“TB FREE INDIA FOUNDATION” was born on The World TB Day – 24th March 2006. This not-for-profit, non-government organization was formally registered on June 2, 2006. The organization and its members are based in a city named Faridabad, situated on the outskirts of India’s capital, New Delhi.
The chief aim is to strive towards attaining freedom from TB.
MISSION STATEMENT:
Know TB – No TB.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
• To eradicate TB from India (which bears almost a third of the global burden).
• To act as a watchdog in TB affairs.
• To create mass awareness about TB.
• To create suitable tools of TB awareness - like books, films, periodicals, documentaries and websites etc. in all possible languages and to take steps to spread them throughout the world – especially among the high burden countries.
• To seek all kinds of remedies including legal remedy, if needed (in order to end decades of injustice being perpetrated on poor and ignorant TB patients).
• To promote R&D on TB.
• To contribute towards training of various levels of target groups, stakeholders, doctors and health workers etc.
• To take all possible and conceivable steps towards improvement of India’s general public health-care instrument being run by the govt. (which is the main vehicle of delivery of TB care) as also the private sector.
• On similar lines, to work in public interest for mitigation of any other ailments and issues.
